Lawn Renovation Services
Environmental stress factors including drought, excess moisture, heat, insects and fungus can take a toll on your lawn during the growing season. We recommend these services for late summer/early fall when temperatures drop and conditions are more conducive for growing grass.
-Aeration: The benefits of yearly core aeration are often overlooked. Core aeration is the process of using a specialize machine to remove cores of soil from the root zone of your lawn. This allows for air, water and nutrients to penetrate the soils surface, while most importantly alleviating soil compaction, and maintaining a health layer of thatch. Alleviation of soil compaction allows for the root system of your turf to expand and dig deeper, ultimately creating a stronger, disease and stress resistant plant.
-Aeration/Overseed: At the time of aeration, we recommend broadcasting seed into all aerated lawn areas. Introducing new varieties of grass into your turf create an overall more diverse stand.
-Slice seeding: Slice seeding is recommended for turf areas that may have been effected by drought, fungus, mechanical injury, underlying ledge, etc. The process is more aggressive than simply overseeding, this insures better seed/soil contact and a higher yield of seedlings to thicken your turf.
-Liming/pH correction: Liming recommendations will be made only after a soil test is taken. A soil test will give us the actual pH of your soil, we can then calculate the right amount of lime to add to your soil. Proper pH in your soil will allow grass plants to make the best use of nutrients and fertilizer, creating stronger, healthier more disease resistant plants.
